The shooting of Raavan has ended at last. You name it and they faced it - rains, accidents, legal issues, jungle safaris, and all kinds of delay that you can think of.

Raavan’ is produced and directed by Mani Ratnam. It has a big star cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Govinda, Vikram, Priyamani, Karthick, Prithviraj and others. Raavan is made into a bilingual (Hindi-Tamil) movie. It is remotely based on Ramayana. Interestingly, the director has modified the story and changed the angle altogether, making the villain a hero. Abhishek here plays the title character as Raavan. Cinematography is done by Santosh Sivan and no guesses for the music - it's A R Rahman as always.

Mani Ratnam breathed a sigh of relief at last and to mark this occasion, Mani Ratnam and his wife Suhasini threw a party for the team. Mani Ratnam personally praised Govinda for his performance, which touched the surprised actor immensely. Now that they are back to modern civilisation, we can be sure the film will be ready for release soon.

According to the Hollywood Reporter Thursday, Michael Jackson's documentary film 'This Is It' earned $ 20.1 million at the US box office on the very first full day of release. The film earned a $12.7 million internationally and another $7.4 million in the US, the report said.

This film was made out of a 100 hours of rehearsal footage, into a 90 minute documentary. It has received immmense positive reviews and more and more fans are crowding to see this wonder one more time.

Jackson is said to be the year's top earning celebrity, though he is no more. He has earned $90 million in the year, with another $72 million since his death, as reported by the Forbes magazine. Michael's father, Joe Jackson, intends to build a tribute museum to the star son in his hometown of Gary, Indiana. Along with Gary mayor Rudy Clay, he plans to to build museum, hotel and performing arts centre.

When asked if she preferred Indian or western wear, she said: 'Personally I like Indian dresses, but I am ok with western outfits as well. I was looking for someone who could essay a beautiful Iyer girl, adept at both classical and western dance, and yet look like she's been born and bred in London. I signed her even before the first promo of Ghajini came on television. Taking a newcomer opposite two big stars was a risk, but I was confident of her and followed my instinct. When Ghajini clicked, I knew I had made the right decision."

Asin plays a musician who joins Ajay Devgan's rock band. London Dreams releases worldwide on October 30 and is being distributed internationally by Studio 18.

All set to match her strides with show-stealer Kajol, Kareena is working real hard for her upcoming movie, which is a Hindi remake of the popular Julia Robert starrer Stepmom. Kareena has been attending acting workshops with the film’s director Siddharth Malhotra.

“The last time I rehearsed for a part was for Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Omkara’. But that was a more unconventional film and role where I had to get into a milieu and character I knew nothing about. But ‘Stepmom’ is urban and very contemporary. I play a very normal metro-centric working girl,” said Kareena

Kareena plays a normal working girl, and that's not easy for one who has been larger than life in most of her movies. “I walk, talk, dress like an ordinary working girl. I’ll be using no makeup.” Designer Manish Malhotra too is having a hard time trying to bring down Kareena’s glamour quotient in “Stepmom” to look like an ordinary working woman. “I couldn’t cut my hair as planned because of continuity clashes. And I didn’t want to cut my long hair. But I’m going for a new hairstyle,” said Kareena.

Talking about Kajol, Kareena said: “She’s always been one of my favourite actresses. We worked together in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’. But this is something else.”

“The desi version of ‘Stepmom’ is very different from the original. My role is also a big departure from what Julia Roberts played in ‘Stepmom’,” added Kareena.

A day after he complained to the Sewree Sessions Court about his poor health, Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, who is in jail for allegedly raping his maidservant, was shifted to the J J Hospital for treatment on Saturday afternoon.

Shiney Ahuja complained of severe back pain to the Sewree Sessions Court; he was shifted to J J Hospital for treatment on Saturday afternoon. The Bollywood actor, who has been in jail for allegedly raping his maidservant, said that he was unable to sit and suspected that he had a slipped-disc. He was also seen weeping inside the court room apparently due to the pain. His lawyers put forth a plea before the court that he should be shifted to a hospital for treatment.

The sessions court ordered the officials of the Arthur Road Jail, where the actor is lodged, to provide medical treatment and admit him to a hospital if needed. "He complained of severe pain and the jail doctor advised him to be admitted to the hospital for advanced treatment. So he was shifted on Saturday afternoon," Jail officials said.

Ahuja was arrested on June 15 for allegedly raping his maid at his residence in suburban Oshiwara. The sessions court is likely to frame charges against Ahuja on October 7, after hearing the arguments of both sides.

Bollywood Badshah has been roped in to dub for a movie made in the South. The national award winner director T. Hariharan is bringing up a magnum opus with ‘Pazhassi Raja’. The movie is based on a popular Kerala King who is considered to have first initiated the freedom struggle against the British rule.

It has been reported the during the shooting of ‘My Name Is Khan’, Hariharan approached SRK in Film City and SRK agreed and was particular that he will not accept any fee for this. He has recorded a 45 seconds long prologue for the movie.

The Malayalam and Tamil versions will be done by Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan respectively. Mollywood’s super star Mammootty plays the hero. The movie is expected to make a release with 525 prints in five languages. Whereas, Kollywood’s Sarath Kumar, Gyanpeeth award winner M T Vasudevan Nair, music maestro Ilayaraja, Oscar winner Resul Pookkuty and other big names are said to be part of this project.
