There were rumours actor Ranvir Shorey plans to to tie the knot with his long time girlfriend Konkona Sen Sharma in December. Ranvir told the media that this is rubbish.

"No plans of me getting married to anyone. I'm still a growing boy," said Ranvir. Meanwhile there have been fast spreading rumours that the wedding is fixed for 27th December, and Konkona’s mom, actress-turned-director Aparna Sen, is busy putting together trousseau for her daughter in Kolkata.

The two actors have been dating each other for three years, but have always refrained from talking about their relationship in public. As for now, both quality actors are looking looking forward to the release of their respective films. While Konkona's will be seen with Ranbir Kapoor in Wake Up Sid, Ranvir will feature in David Dhawan's Do Knot Disturb and later in Rajat Kapoor's A Rectangular Love Story.

After the incident of an elephant killing one guy during the shoot in Kerala, Mani Ratnam is again in trouble with some other problems in completing his shooting of Ravana.

This time, in a village near Pune, the officials objected several activities against law by the Ravan team again. "These persons have been charged with illegally entering forest property and undertaking land levelling work to facilitate the film's shoot," said Deputy Conservator of Forests Subhash Shelke. Again it is an issue of dumping material and erecting sets without permission.
"The forest department had handed over some parts of the land to the irrigation department in 1992. As per the law, the land remains a reserved forest. The dam water is used for irrigation. Besides this, no other activity is allowed unless permission is obtained from the competent authority," Forest Officer Sadashiv Raut said.
He added: "Mani Ratnam had visited the village sometime back and had decided to shoot a part of the film here as the location had resemblance with the ancient setting he had in mind for the film."
Let’s wait and see how long this issue takes to resolve. Just as Rama faced so many obstacles in the forest, Mani Ratnam is also going through quite a bit through the making of his ‘Ravana’ which is inspired by Ramayana.
This ambitious project of Mani Ratnam has Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Vikram and Priyamani in lead roles. Music is by none other than maestro A R Rahman.

People were quite excited to see him with an overgrown beard at the press meet of ‘Wake up Sid’. It seems that the making of ‘Rocket Singh’ has come to an end. They were supposed to wrap up on August 14, but it got delayed by a couple of days. This is why Ranbit has his beard on. There is a video song left for ‘Wake up Sid’ so he has to make sure he finishes his shoot of ‘Rocket Singh’ to remove his beard. "The actor himself has got exhausted with the beard and wants to remove it as soon as possible. This is probably the first time Ranbir has kept such a grown beard on him for such a long period. He has been making public appearances too in this avtaar of his." Said one of the sources. Poor Ranbir, he had to keep that natural one as Shimit Amin was sure he didn’t want a false beard on.

He stated that while he respected the law of every land, but what really annoyed him was the deliberate attempt by the American immigration personnel to make this usual procedure an ordeal for him. ''I don't want to be treated differently from the rest of the people. But, what made me furious was the fact that the immigration authorities at the airport wanted someone to vouch for my identity despite the fact that a huge crowd had gathered to take my autograph. Even when a senior airport official came forward to vouch for me, the immigration authorities were relentless with the interrogation.'' said Shah Rukh to the media guys.

Several people called it off as a publicity stunt, he had a ready reply to that also: ''I don't need to create cheap publicity stunts when everyone knows who SRK is. And why would I engage in such thrills when my film is still nine months away from its release date.''

"As a child, Salman was very naughty He used to get the most beating...still does," Salma told choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan on her chat show Tere Mere Beech Mein.

When Farah asked "Is it just a pat?", Salman said at once: "Are you mad or what? It comes as such a phatak (tight slap)...I reel under its heavy impact and wonder where it came from! I tell her that how can you beat me mamma, I'm a grown up man now."

Many such secrets were revealed in this show, leaving Salman embarrassed. For instance, she revealed that she still stays up waiting for him at the window till he returns home. Salma said that all her kids tease her for this habit.

"They say that the building doesn't need a watchman with me keeping guard all night," she smiled.

"Aishwarya has taken ill and is down with chest infection and flu like symptoms. Had a high fever yesterday but is settling down today," Big B wrote from Singapore. "It's worrying to be so far away from children and not be there to look after them. Yes, they are mature and married and responsible, but children will always remain children!"

The veteran actor is in Singapore to look after his friend and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, who had undergone a heart surgery there.

Shah Rukh was delayed at an American airport and this lead to lots of reaction in the country including the Government saying the action was "offensive" and unacceptable and that it will "strongly" take up the issue with the US.

"We will take the issue with the United States government strongly. Such incidents involving Indians due to their religion or nationality should not happen... we will not accept it," Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel Patel told reporters in Bikaner. Tweeting in the social networking site 'Tweeter', Minister of state for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor said, "we all found it offensive". Tharoor also added that SRK himself spoke about the matter with "great dignity."
Harbhajan Singh was of a different opinion, he said that he has undergone numerous checking and screening procedure and never found anything wrong with it. "I don't know what exactly happened there. But I just heard that he was detained for two hours which I think is a routine procedure. You people have made it a big news," the off-spinner told reporters after laying the foundation for a cancer research institute in Baruipur in West Bengal. Harbhajan said Shah Rukh deserved respect as a public figure but screening is a routine procedure followed in airports across the world. "They check everybody. Even I was checked and screened a number of times. It's a routine procedure," he said, before adding "however, SRK is a public figure and he should be respected."

The all time favourite on-screen couple SRK and Kajol are back after a break of eight years in Karan Johar's next movie.

After the news conference in Mumbai where the Rs 100 crore deal with FOX studios was announced, Karan said:"People came up to me as I was walking down LA's boulevard saying is there a song like Sooraj Hua Madham or like Kabhi Khushi ... and I was like no..." But for those expecting the usual SRK-Kajol romance on screen are in for a surprise. "There is love for those looking for it but it's intrinsic to the characters, you will have to find it," said Karan.

This is a first Karan Johar film that will have no songs. "Karan and I talk about it a lot, he thinks that Kajol and I are the perfect on screen couple," said SRK.

"I love the two of them and I'm very scared that they are coming together after so long," said Karan, who said in one of his earlier interviews that he could not have made the movie without Kajol and Shah Rukh.

"Whatever said and done Kajol is the corner stone of the film," said Shah Rukh. "It's a film about two people, about a bunch of people , about a neighbourhood, about two neighbourhoods, a city, a county and then the world," said SRK.

The film is also another first for Karan Johar as it is his shortest film ever. "My shortest film is three hours and three minutes."

Shahid is thrilled to play the bad guy on screen for the first time. "Good can get boring after a period of time. I have tried to achieve what director Vishal Bharadwaj has envisaged. It is the best double role that I have come across in recent times," Shahid, who is a big success as the 'good boy' in many roles so far.

This chocolate boy is going to play a double role, with speech disorders, in Vishal Bharadwaj's Kaminey. Shahid's character 'Guddu' stammers while 'Charlie' has a lisp. "We visited ENT specialists and did some research by meeting people who face such disorders in real life. I have tried to realistically represent both the characters. They are not caricatures," Shahid said adding "it was comparatively more difficult to play 'Guddu'."

"Earlier in films, such characters were meant to do only comedy. But, for the first time, a hero was representing such people on screen and they were very happy about it. It is my most challenging role till date," he said.

However, he was surprised and disappointed over Kaminey been given a 'A' certificate by the Censor Board.

Kaminey has been given an 'A' certificate by the Censor Board, and of course, nobody can be happy about that. Shahid said: "There is a lot more violence in other films."

After the wonderfully positive response for Love Aaj Kal, Saif decided to unwind from all that pre-release stress by spending some quality time with family. Karren also joined them all.

"I was a little under the weather on Friday and very anxious about how Love Aaj Kal will be received. But now I'm fine. Yes, Kareena and I were chilling out with abba (Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi) and amma (Sharmila Tagore) all day on Friday," said Saif.

Saif flew into Delhi for a special screening of Love Aaj Kal on Thursday. After the event, rest of the Love Aaj Kal cast and crew flew back - director Imtiaz Ali to Mumbai, Deepika Padukone to London, but Saif stayed back.

"I was all set to marry Elesh on Sunday. But it was Elesh who said he wanted more time to get to know me. I'm very confident of him. But if he needs more time to get to know me, how can I force myself on him? I'm ready to wait as long as he wants," said Rakhi.

Though she is willing to wait for Elesh to make up his mind about the wedding, she is sure she will not relocate to Canada. "I'm completely sure Elesh is the man for me. But I do have a career in Mumbai. So he'll have to plan our future accordingly."

He recounted, "I’m the most successful failure. My mother didn’t live long enough to see me become a superstar. Ab pata nahin Delhi mein yeh word use karte hain ya nahin, but there were times jab meri kudki ho gayi thi. Kudki is when you lose everything and you’re on the road. I equated poverty to failure at one point in my life. I didn’t want to be poor. So I did Deewana, a film that Armaan Kohli had refused. I did Baazigar that my friend Salman didn’t want to do. I acted in Darr because Aamir turned it down and I worked in Dil Aashna Hai because Saif refused it. These films paid well and I was working to avoid unemployment. When Dilip saab (Dilip Kumar) and I were watching my Devdas, I asked him, ‘Why did you do Devdas?’ And he said, ‘Pata nahin. Tab ek lakh rupaiya mila tha’. Then success happened… My speech ends. Normally, people clap now.”

Injustice may have happened to others, but it has not happened to us. I have always got love and support from all quarters.” said Salman Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan also voiced his opinion in this matter, “I have never been treated differently because of my religion. I am 44 years old now and never in my life have I felt discriminated.It is a one-off incident and should not be given too much importance. We are a fast growing nation and the reason for our development is the fact that we have overcome the barriers of religion, castes, class in our hearts and minds. We should not let these small incidents affect us.”

Every person who has watched Love Aaj Kal is all ga-ga over the innocent looking Punjabi girl opposite Saif. Guess what, she is a Brazilian model named Giselle Monteiro who couldn’t even speak Hindi when she started off!

Director Imtiaz Ali says, “She is actually a Brazilian girl named Giselle Monteiro. Why a Brazilian girl to play an old-fashioned Punjabi girl? Well, I was auditioning girls from all over the country to play the Punjabi girl opposite the Sikh Saif. I couldn’t find the right girl to play the 1965 ki ‘gali mein rehne wali ladki, purane zamane ki’.”

“Giselle came to me through dress designer Anaita Shroff. She was to play Jo, Saif’s Caucasian girlfriend in the second half. She wasn’t right for Jo.I turned and looked at Giselle and realised she is Brazil’s Harleen.”

Giselle had no idea about Bollywood dancing either, Imtiaz Ali adds, “We wanted to put her through the paces with Saroj ji (choreographer Saroj Khan), but it never happened. Saroj ji didn’t have the time. For a foreigner to get the Indian ‘adaa’ right is very tough.”

When asked why Rakhi chose Elesh over other finalists Manas and Chittiz, she said, “Elesh is honest.”
